Could There Be a 'Twilight' TV Show Soon?

This year brings "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2," and with it comes the end of the "Twilight" saga.

Or does it?

Summit, the studio that created the "Twilight" movies, was just bought out by Lionsgate, the studio that does "The Hunger Games." And just because Lionsgate has its own big teen series starting this year doesn't mean it doesn't hope for more "Twilight" opportunities now that Summit is under its umbrella.

"It's hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn't have ongoing value," said Lionsgate chief exec Jon Feltheimer on whether he hopes to see more Twilight movies. "It's an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is 'Boy I hope so.'"

Does that mean there could be a sixth movie after "Breaking Dawn Part 2?" Yes, that's entirely possible. Whether or not they wait for Stephanie Meyer to write another novel is the question.

The other option, and a very intriguing one at that, is the possibility of a TV show. Summit didn't have a television production unit, but Lionsgate does... and that means that it could now pursue the possibility of putting "Twilight" on the TV. Watch out, "The Vampire Diaries." There may be a new bloodsucking kid on the block soon.
