Could 'Roseanne' Move to Fox?
by EG
ABC decided that it wasn't a good fit for Roseanne after the show's star tweeted a racist comment last week, but could Fox be the right place for the popular series? The network has already picked up Last Man Standing, a sitcom beloved by conservative audiences, after it was cancelled by ABC. Could it do the same with Roseanne Barr's show? Read on to find out.

The fallout from Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet on Tuesday has been quite a thing to behold, a chain of events unlike any we’ve seen in TV history. After tweeting a racist insult about former President Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, ABC canceled the Roseanne revival, Barr’s talent agency dropped her as a client, and Hulu and plenty of cable networks pulled the show from their lineups (you can, however, still stream the classic seasons on Amazon’s Prime Video).

Through all of this, fans of the sitcom have done what they always do when a show they love gets the ax: they hold out hope that it’ll get picked up by another network. It’s happened plenty of times in the past, most recently with Brooklyn Nine-Nine jumping from Fox to NBC and Last Man Standing moving from ABC to Fox. That last example, a right-leaning sitcom with an outspoken conservative in the lead getting revived by Fox, has caused many to believe that Roseanne is moving to Fox.

That’s not happening. Roseanne is not moving to Fox, even though there are people that have tried to start Twitter campaigns to convince Fox to pick up the show. Barr herself has responded to those campaigns, basically saying “thanks but no thanks.”
