Conan O'Brien Spoofs Sarah Palin's Caribou Hunt as Rudolph (video)

Conan O’Brien got in the holiday spirit yesterday and had a cute little skit on his show Conan on TBS.

The skit featured Sarah Palin and how she…killed Rudolph? Of course, it would be Conan who could take the clip from Sarah Palin’s Alaska show and turn it in to a holiday spoof for his own purposes!

But Conan isn’t always known for his tact. Did he pull it off in a funny way or was it a little gross?

Conan O'Brien took to his gloriously decked-out holiday set on TBS last night to report some sad news: Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer had been murdered at the hands of hunter Sarah Palin.

"They updated it to make the Rudolph story a little more contemporary," Conan joked as an introduction to a clip.

Palin's caribou hunting stint on 'Alaska' saw harsh denouncements from screenwriter Aaron Sorkin as well as PETA . Sorkin's screed was particularly barbed: "You weren't killing that animal for food or shelter or even fashion," he wrote. "You were killing it for fun. You enjoy killing animals."

Sarah kind of put herself out there for this spoof, don’t ya think? When you highlight shooting caribou – or reindeer – in the month before Christmas, it’s just asking for the comedians to knock you around a bit for it. Sure, she is promoting Alaska, but is it at the expense of herself? Is anybody even watching her show anymore? Someone must be watching, since it wasn’t cancelled.
