'Community' Sets 6th-Season Premiere Date on Yahoo! Screen
by Andy Neuenschwander
Pop-pop everybody!
"Community" is coming back for its sixth season on Yahoo! Screen, but the company had been holding off on announcing the official premiere date for the new incarnation of the show...until now.
Yahoo! has confirmed that "Community" season six will premiere on Tuesday, March 17!
Unlike fellow streaming services Netflix and Amazon, Yahoo! will not release the entire season of "Community" for binge-watching. Instead, it will follow a similar approach to the TV networks, premiering the first two episodes on the 17th and releasing a new episode every Tuesday from there on out.
Along with the change in distribution, "Community" will also be adding two new regular cast members: Paget Brewster and Keith David. Brewster will play a "problem solver" who is brought into Greendale to help clean up the Dean's mess, while David plays a computer programmer.
According to Dan Harmon, you can expect those two characters to start a little one-dimensional but become more fleshed-out as the season goes on. That's pretty much standard procedure for "Community," whose characters often start as an archetype but become infinitely nuanced later on.
