Comedian Patrice O'Neal Dies Following Stroke

Comedian Patrice O'Neal Dies Following Stroke The comedy scene lost a veteran today as New York comedian Patrice O'Neal died at the age of 41, following a stroke that he suffered in October.

You may have seen O'Neal in a few of his acting appearances as one of the warehouse guys in early episodes of "The Office," or in movies ranging from "The 25th Hour" to "Furry Vengeance." He also appeared in an episode of "Arrested Development" as T-Bone.

But O'Neal was best known for his work as a stand-up comedian, as he was a legend in the New York comedy scene. O'Neal made a big splash on TV, where he performed in his own Comedy Central special and made many late-night talk show appearances.

He also joked frequently on VH1's "I Love the..." series. His last TV performance was in "The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen."

Immediately following the news, comedians took to Twitter to offer their respects. "Never saw anything funnier than someone meeting Patrice for the first time," wrote Bill Burr. "The most purely funny human being I've ever met."

Vinny G of "Jersey Shore" spoke out as well: "RIP Patrice O'Neal.. You were one of the best," he wrote, and included a link to his favorite O'Neal routine.
