Is Colin Hanks the Newest Serial Killer to Hit 'Dexter?'

Is Colin Hanks the Newest Serial Killer to Hit 'Dexter?' It looks like Colin Hanks is going from one of "The Good Guys" to a serious bad guy.

Hanks has been cast in the new season of Showtime's hit drama "Dexter," according to a report from TV Line. Hanks has found some success following in his father Tom's footsteps, having jump-started his career with a leading role in "Orange County" and recently landed the lead in the short-lived comedy series "The Good Guys."

Though there are no confirmations of what role Hanks will be playing (the "Dexter" team is notorious for keeping their secrets under wraps), it seems that he will be taking on a recurring, season-long arc. That would lead one to believe that Hanks will be the villain of the series.

However, director David Nevins recently told TV Line that next season wasn't going to be about "one big bad." So, if Hanks does turn out to be a villain, he might be just one of many, as opposed to past seasons that featured single serial killers like the Ice Truck Killer or the Trinity Killer.

Of course, the other option is that Hanks ends up being another cop, FBI agent, or the like. After all, things are always more tense when Dex has someone on his trail, aren't they?
