Colin Farrell Stars in Total Recall Remake

Colin FarrelMany people are huge fans of the hit movie Total Recall, which has gone on to gain cult status and starred The Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Fans may be pleased to learn that there is now a remake of the movie in the offing, and this will be brought to our screens by Len Wiseman.

Wiseman was also responsible for the first two Underworld movies, so some movie fans will already be familiar with his work. He is due to start shooting the movie, which originally came out in 1990, in March 2011, and it is due to hit our screens in 2012, so there is still a bit of a wait for those anxious to see what Wiseman has done with the original.

Arnold Schwarzenegger gave an impressive performance as Quaid in the original, and the man that is said to be filling the muscle man's shoes is Irish actor Colin Farrell, who has also clocked up an impressive number of hit movies including In Bruges, Miami Vice, S.W.A.T., Daredevil, and Phone Booth.

Whilst Wiseman may decide to follow exactly the same storyline with the remake of Total Recall there is no way he will be able to stick to the original budget. The 1990's version cost around $50 million to make and took in nearly $120 million at the box office.

However, the remake is set to be shot in Toronto, and according to reports is likely to cost around $200 million to make, costing four times as much as the original.
