by Zack Wells“The Cleveland Show”, season 4, episode 15, “California Dreamin’ (All the Cleves Are Brown)”
Cleveland wakes Donna up on the morning of their anniversary… the anniversary of the day he gave up his dreams to stay in Stoolbend with Donna and the kids.
As an anniversary gift, Donna arranges for the whole family to move to LA, where she got him as a job as a scout for the LA Dodgers, to fulfill his dream.
Once they get there, Cleveland heads to the stadium. He gets thrown off the field, and sent to the scouts’ office.
Rallo and Junior go sightseeing in Hollywood. Rallo finds it gross, but Junior loves it. Rallo takes a picture of who he believes to be a bum peeing on a Hollywood star. But when he’s done, a man runs up and offers him $100 for the picture he just took of Jillian Michaels. Rallo decides to become a paparazzo.
Donna and Roberta drives by a rich Hollywood high school, and she falls in love with it. She says it’s her mission to play the new girl
In a whole foods store, Donna helps settle down a small child by playing a recorder. The child’s mother notices, and offers to hire her as a children’s entertainer, “Old MacDonna”.
In the stadium, Cleveland is made to sit through 17,000 hours of Venezuelan baseball games in hopes of finding some scouts. He seems disappointed.
He goes home to find his family happy with their new jobs: Rallo as a paparazzo, Junior as a friend of the superheroes, Roberta as the new girl, and Donna as Old MacDonna. They are happy they are thriving, and Cleveland is miserable.
While taking out the trash, Cleveland meets his new neighbor Gina, who is an aspiring actress. He unloads his frustrations on her, and she reassures him not to give up on his dream. He thanks her.
In Hollywood, Junior witnesses two men shoplifting, and tells Batman to stop them. No one makes any motion to stop them. He gives all the crack fiends/superheroes a pep talk, trying to motivate them to stop crime.
At work, Cleveland dismisses the other scouters and brings in three players he convinced to join their team: Joey Votto, Jimmy Rollins, and David Ortiz. He offered them all $1 billion to switch teams. Cleveland’s boss tells him he’d be fired if it wasn’t for Donna. Instead, he gets demoted to cleaning the team showers.
Old MacDonna hosts a child’s party to much success. Rallo stands outside a theater and takes pictures of various celebrities while chit-chatting with the other paparazzi.
Gina, seeing how down Cleveland is, offers to take him out to make him feel better. Seeing how happy he is to see a small town again, she suggests he move back home.
A man steals a woman’s purse, and Junior and his crack fiend superheroes stop the thief from getting away. The woman thanks them. They stand on a rooftop and listen for crime. As they hear gunshots, all his crack fiend friends jump from the roof to stop the crime, but, instead, fall to their deaths.
Donna’s little side gig turns into a full-fledged company. Cleveland arrives to tell her he wants to go home, but he notices that she has hired many Donna look alikes. He tells her that they’re moving back home, but Donna flips. She says they’re staying, after she blew up at her assistant.
Gina asks Cleveland how Donna took the news, and he tells her that it didn’t go well. He notices that his entire family has changed. Gina says that LA happened to them, and they need to get out before LA happens to him, too.
Later on, Cleveland sends the family a video message from Stoolbend, showing all the things they’re missing out on. He convinces them all to come home.
After the message ends, they think an earthquake has hit, as their walls split apart. Cleveland reveals they’re all in a studio, the ruse set up by Gina, but Donna is still set on moving back home. He tells Gina she has a spot in production, but she says she’s rather be an actress.
Before going back, Cleveland tells the entirety of LA that they are the worst city on the face of the earth.
