Clash Of The Fanatics: Justin Bieber's Beliebers Vs. Lady Gaga's Little Monsters
by Sean ComerForget "Twilight" versus "Harry Potter" - there's a whole Twitter war of attrition for which absolutely nobody clamoring.
In the latest skirmish to be filed under "Really? This is a thing?", Justin Bieber's obssessive little cult of personality has momentarily broken from harrassing the bystanders at whom Bieber points his little lilly-white finger and decided to go hard at Lady Gaga's own ardent following. And as E! Online reports, it all started earlier this month when Gaga surpassed Bieber as Twitter's most-followed person.
It appears it all began with one rabble-rousing fanatical follower of the "Baby" singer and YouTube-to-riches success story.
"To all beliebers this is operation unfollow Lady Gaga," the fan tweeted with little regard for decent spelling or punctuation, as reported by The New York Post. "I'm sorry if your a 'little monster' but don't [you] want Justin to be #1 followed on Twitter? Well here is the plan we all know that all beliebers with twitter follow Justin and we don't have to [create] a million accounts with this plan. First, it's simple to lok (sic) up Lady Gaga on Twitter. Next unfollow her. Simple!
"I'm not trying to trash Gaga or anything I am a [fan] of her music but I think Justin should be #1 followed on Twitter," Captain Crazy-Pants tacked on. "That's all but believers please spread the word for me okay? Thank you all that helped."
The next generation of decision-makers, folks.
The movement is organized by the hashtag #OperationUnfollowGaga. For the Little Monsters' parts, they're not exactly retaliating in kind. And that makes sense: while Gaga's certainly got her quirks, her music certainly boasts more substance than Bieber's. Maybe that's why her fans are raising eyebrows, not fists.
"Pathetic," one fan responded.
According to the Post, neither artist has commented publicly on the random movement.
