'Chucky' Creator Wants a Scary Doll Cross-Over Movie with 'Annabelle'

What's scarier than one murderous doll? How about two?

Don Mancini, the man responsible for the "Child's Play" movies and the character of homocidal doll Chucky, is hoping for just that kind of team-up.

"I am hoping that at some future point we have Annabelle and Chucky team up," Mancini said in an interview with USA Today. "I can see that in 20 years from now."

Sounds pretty great, right? Considering the fact that "Annabelle" performed well enough in theaters to go head-to-head with Ben Affleck's "Gone Girl," you can bet that the studios would be behind it. However, the studios are also part of the problem.

"We would be into it, the only problem is that we are in different studios," Mancini said. "That would probably be years worth of red tape to work it out."But if it all could be worked out, then yes, we're very into it."

Currently, Mancini is writing the next "Child's Play" movie, the seventh in the franchise. Chucky made his first appearance in the original "Child's Play" in 1988, gained a wife in "Bride of Chucky" a decade later, and had a son in 2004's "Seed of Chucky." The franchise then took another nearly decade-long break before "Curse of Chucky" came out in 2013.
