'Chuck' Star Zachary Levi Joining 'Heroes' Reboot
by Andy Neuenschwander
Zachary Levi is going from sleeper spy to superhero!
The former "Chuck" star has officially been cast in the upcoming NBC reboot of "Heroes," according to an announcement from the network at the Television Critics' Association press tour. Levi will be joining the only other currently confirmed cast member Jack Coleman, who will be reprising his role as Noah (aka HRG).
The show is currently slated for release later in 2015, likely sometime during the Fall television season. NBC has ordered 13 episodes and tapped Tim Kring, the creator of the original "Heroes" series, to head up the reboot.
Plot details are scarce as of yet, but we do know that "Heroes Reborn" is going to take place after the events of the original series, so it will be a sequel of sorts. The show will also be accompanied by a digital companion series, including webisodes and comic book issues.
There's still no official word on whether or not Zachary Quinto will join Levi and Coleman and reprise his role as Sylar, but given his schedule with both the "Star Trek" movies and the upcoming NBC series "The Slap," he will likely be unavailable.
