Christina Aguilera Busted for Public Intoxication, Boyfriend Arrested for DUI

What a Girl Wants.. is to stay out of handcuffs!

Early this morning singer Christina Aguilera was arrested in Los Angeles on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication after her 25-year-old boyfriend Matthew Rutler was pulled over on suspicion of DUI.

An L.A. County Sheriff's department spokesperson confirmed that officers pulled Rutler over after observing him driving erratically.

30-year-old Aguilera was a passenger in the car - no crime there - but the spokeswoman stated the vocalist was "so intoxicated she couldn't take care of herself."

After 3 a.m. Aguilera was released on $250 bail. There is no word on whether or not Rutler as been released but his bail was set at $30,000.

Since filing for divorce from husband Jordan Bratman, Aguilera has had a number of embarrassing moments. This only being the latest public woe for a woman who, one year ago, was on top of her game.

You may remember just weeks ago Aguilera fumbled at the "Super Bowl" when she sang the wrong words to the National Anthem. Attempting redemption, a week later the songbird took a tumble while singing onstage at "The Grammys."

Maybe this blow will be the wake-up call Aguilera needs.
