Chris Pine Fined For Drunk Driving

Whoops.

Chris Pine, who is set to appear in "Into the Woods" alongside Anna Kendrick, pleaded guilty on Monday for driving drunk in New Zealand.

The court appearance follows an arrest on February 28th, after Pine left a wrap party for "Z for Zachariah." He was arrested after being pulled over at a sobriety checkpoint, and blowing a .11 (the legal limit in New Zealand is .08).

Pine has allegedly admitted to having four vodka drinks. He was accompanied by Icelandic girlfriend, model Iris Bjork Johannesdotti.

The bar where the actor was drinking to celebrate the completion of his film released a statement claiming that Pine "did not appear to the staff to be intoxicated to a level where intervention might have been warranted."

Pine's punishments were light. He was fined $79 ($93 in New Zealand), and had his New Zealand driver's license suspended for six months.

"He accepts he made the wrong decision to drive that night," says Pine's attorney Marilyn Gilchrist. "He was not stopped because of any error in his driving... He had a short 2-kilometer journey through the village of Methven... after a long week of filming."

Gilchrist added that Pine had not eaten enough food or gotten enough sleep that night, and that the arrest was causing him to suffer emotionally and professionally. The incident may affect his travel to Canada per an acting contract.

The judge in the case noted that Pine was "entirely remorseful" and the incident was out of character.
