Chris Harrison Not Open To Starring On 'The Bachelor'
by Sean ComerLet's let Chris Harrison get something straight before the rumors fly too far: the host of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" won't be revisiting how the other half lives any time soon.
It only recently became public knowledge that Harrison and his wife Gwen are ending their 18-year marriage. With barely enough ink on their divorce papers to let dry, Reuters reports that he won't soon go from host to "Bachelor" contestant.
"Getting out of a 22-year relationship, having just announced my divorce to the world a week ago, having two kids and trying to start a new life, I'm thinking I wouldn't exactly be a great candidate to be 'The Bachelor' right now or anytime soon," People.com reports Harrison said during a Wednesday conference call promoting the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette". The coming season features former "Bachelor"-winning lady Emily Maynard taking another crack at prime time love.
Harrison admitted he was "waiting for that question."
He also quipped that, given the nature of his "day-job," dating might not come easily in the best of moments.
"Yep, [they will expect] the helicopter and private jet," Harrison joked. "I haven't actually had a date in 22 years so we'll see."
