Chris Brown's Controversial Halloween Costume

Chris Brown raised some eyebrows yet again with his choice of Halloween costume. The “Think Like a Man” actor and singer and his group of friends posted a photo to Instagram. Their costumes?

Well, there seems to be no actual consensus. Stereotypical terrorists? Members of the Taliban? Osama Bin Laden and posse? Hard to decipher specifics.

“Ain't nobody F*cking wit my clique!!!!#ohb,” Brown posted as his caption.

It’s fair to say that many found the choice in poor taste. User tahminabreezy responded, “CHRIS BROWN YOUR MUSLIM FANS ARE OFFENDED, not even a sorry? Me being a muslim and a huge #teambreezy is upsetting.. I mean i will always support you no matter what but insulting my religion isnt good, i found this picture funny at first but then realised it was bad, the way you see muslims, muslims are not terrorists and terrorists are not muslims. So please dont do this, i love you so much.. You inspire me.. Your SO talented but this is hurtful to see my fave judging my religion.. :(“

Brown’s mother stepped in to defend her son. "Halloween is for fun, nothing more than just fun. Get a life please.”

Mom Joyce Hawkins added, “So does this mean when we dress our kids as Satan we glorifying him or (is) it just out of fun???? ... Keep smiling angel."

What do you think about the controversy? Was Chris Brown’s costume an innocent attempt to have fun—turbans, guns, beards and all? Or is this a legitimately upsetting poke?

Saying it offends no one, Ann Coulter-style, clearly can’t apply here judging by the fan backlash, but to what extent should people take this?

Chris Brown certainly has a lot of strikes on his record.
