Check Out This 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Behind the Scenes Footage and See How Silly Superhero Movies Are
by Andy Neuenschwander
Superhero movies are cool. They're one big explosion of special effects, heroic character moments, and bad-ass fight scenes.
But when you look closer and take away all of that post-production editing, superhero movies actually end up looking pretty silly.
That's the case in this behind-the-scenes video from "Avengers: Age of Ultron," in which we see some of the filming process for the movie.
For example, the video includes footage of Chris Hemsworth as Thor pretending to shoot lightning out of his hammer. When you consider that you're watching a grown man wearing a cape and holding a foam hammer pretend to be a Norse god, it's really more funny than badass.
You also have to feel for Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch and has to pretend to be using all kinds of reality-altering magic.
I mean, look at this:
And this:
Rather silly, is it not?
Still, we know that everything will turn out to be more or less amazing when the finished product hits theaters on May 1.
