Check Out Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong In Deleted 'This Is 40' Scene!

In a deleted scene from “This Is 40,” the sort-of sequel to “Knocked Up,” Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong has a good time pitching music ideas to Paul Rudd’s character Pete.

“Have you heard about Norwegian death metal? I thought about taking that and mixing it with Belle & Sebastian… It's sort of music you can cry to but maybe burn a church down at the same time…

I kind of want it to sound, like two different radio stations going off at the same time in like... a white supremacist car.”

The singer pokes fun at himself delightfully in his cameo, while pitching horrible new ideas for a record that he and/or Green Day will deny any affiliation with. Or else. Seriously. He’ll sue.

“I don’t want my name is be anywhere near this thing. I mean, there’s gonna be so much violence. That’s the whole, the point, I want it to create violence, but I don’t want to get like… lawyers.”

Pete’s face falls as he tries to talk out the details of this strange new project… his initial excitement to have his small record company involved in working with the Green Day singer fading to sheer confusion.

"My biggest frustration about my career is that I actually sell too many records. So I'm trying to change that by doing this side project. That’s why I want to work with you!”

“This Is 40” also stars Leslie Mann, because it’s a Judd Apatow film, and is in theaters now.
