Is Charlie Sheen Planning a 'Two and a Half Men' Return for the Finale?
by Andy NeuenschwanderCould "Two and a Half Men" be getting another dose of Sheen?
If he has anything to say about it, yes!
"The chances would be 100 percent," Sheen told E! News when asked if he would want to return to the CBS sitcom before the end of its final season. But he added a very important caveat: "If they want to do it."
Of course, considering the very public and vocal way Sheen left the show a few years ago, the chances of the show inviting him back is probably pretty slim. Granted, Sheen's departure brought the show some serious free publicity and set records for ratings, even if they were short-lived. But if you'll remember, Sheen threw some very creative insults at the show's team, especially producer Chuck Lorre.
Sheen was later replaced by Ashton Kutcher, who has been on the show until now. This year's premiere will mark the beginning of the show's final season.
Sources close to the production say that there isn't any plan for Sheen to return before the show's end. Perhaps it wasn't even an idea that was brought up, though, and the interest in the concept might spark a change.
However, there would still be the matter of how to incorporate Sheen back into the show, considering the fact that his character was supposedly killed in a terrific car accident (that, of course, happened off screen).
"I just want to do it classy," Sheen said of the possibility. "I want to do it in a way that still services what the show is today, and also honors what it was when I was there. Who knows? I'm sure they are over there right now, pen to paper, trying to figure something out. If it's not done properly, then there is no reason to do it. But it's a pretty smart group over there and I'm sure they will figure something. Something that makes sense to everyone."
