Charlie Brown Voice Actor Arrested

Peter Robbins, who voiced beloved Peanuts character Charlie Brown during the 1960’s, was arrested last week in San Diego.

Robbins, 56, was arrested at the San Ysidro Port of Entry trying to cross the border. A systems check determined that Robbins was wanted on a felony warrant, and he was taken into custody and held on $550,000 bail.

He appeared in court on Wednesday to plead “not guilty” to two counts of stalking and ten counts of criminal threat.

Robbins is accused of stalking and threatening his ex-girlfriend, as well as her plastic surgeon. He reportedly threatened to kill his ex and her son multiple times. At one point her called her cell phone 37 times in the period of a day, demanding that she return his dog and car, and threatening violence if she did not.

In December, he allegedly confronted her in a hotel room, where he beat said dog and told his girlfriend he would not stop hurting it, or her, until she got a refund for her breast implants. He also reportedly grabbed her by the neck and threw her against a door.

He is also accused of harassing the plastic surgeon who gave his ex implants before their break-up, demanding a refund. The surgeon, fearing for her life, moved into a hotel and hired an armed guard for her clinic.

Prosecutors against Robbins noted that he had recently purchased a gun and had been practicing at a shooting range.

Robbins is best known for voicing Charlie Brown in classics like “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “A Boy Named Charlie Brown.”

He played the role of the hapless, bald little boy from age nine, until he was fourteen and his voice changed.

He has also appeared on television shows like “The Munsters” and “Get Smart.”
