Charity Winner Picked to Die in 'Game of Thrones'

Charity Winner Picked to Die in 'Game of Thrones' In the campaign run by George R.R. Martin to earn funds for the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary, you win, or you die... or, in this case, both.

The biggest winner, one could say, is 30-year-old Facebook employee Dave Goldblatt, whose $20,000 donation to the charity auction earned him the "martyr" level prize.

That means that Martin has promised to name a character after the donor in his wildly popular book series. And then, in typical "Game of Thrones" fashion, kill that character off.

Goldblatt got to choose his character's station in the series, and decided that his fictional counterpart would be Valryian, because he thinks they are "cool."

So will Dave Goldblatt be getting any sort of adaptation to his name to make it sound a wee bit more Valryian? He's not sure.

"You're going to have to ask George about that."

A second winner also grabbed up the martyr slot, as one was open for a man and one for a woman. However the lucky (and considerably set back in the cash department) lady has chosen to remain anonymous so far.
