Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Pair Up For 'Guys and Dolls'

Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing and dancing together? Is this a match made in Heaven?

20th Century Fox has closed movie rights on “Guys and Dolls,” which has been floating around for years now waiting for the perfect team for Jo Loesser (the widow of songwriter Frank Loesser) to trust enough to sign over the rights.

The studio hopes to pair up interested Tatum and Gordon-Levitt as the modernized version of Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson (Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando immortalized the roles in the 1955 film version).

No writer or director is yet attached, but with big names like Tatum and Gordon-Levitt stepping into the role, no doubt the studio will be able to pick and choose the rest of their talent.

The story, based off short stories by Damon Runyon that focused on gamblers and gangsters of the 1920’s and ‘30’s, follows Nathan Detroit, who wants to set up a floating crap game but needs money to do so. He bets his friend Sky Masterson that he can’t get the straight-laced Sarah Brown to go with him to Havana.

Frank Loesser wrote the music and lyrics for the stage and film adaptation.

Audiences know that Tatum and Gordon-Levitt are more than capable of singing and dancing. Both performed during the Seth MacFarlane-hosted Academy Awards, Tatum dancing with Charlize Theron and Gordon-Levitt singing and dancing alongside MacFarlane and Daniel Radcliffe.

Oh, and then there’s that little gem of a film called “Magic Mike,” of course... which Gordon-Levitt spoofed in his “Saturday Night Live” monologue to surprisingly sexy results.

Finally, a movie coming to theaters that the ladies can fully appreciate! Tatum or Gordon-Levitt, or just a great story, girls? Which one will be your big draw?
