Celebrities Gather For Gun Control Ad

The issue of gun control and regulation has been in the spotlight after the horrible tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary that left 26 people, mostly children, dead.

Hollywood has gotten involved in the issue, trying to spread the word. Mostly the vocal celebrities seem to have sided with improving gun legislation.

Demand a Plan, a campaign of mayors against illegal guns, has gathered a who’s who of celebrities together to create a short ad pushing for gun control.

Celebrities who appear include stars like "Django Unchained" actor Jamie Foxx, Beyonce, Ellen, Paul Rudd, Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, Zooey Deschanel, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Just to name a few.

“How many more?” They ask. “Enough… As an American. As a human being… For the children of Sandy Hook. Demand a plan…No more lists of names… It’s not too soon. It’s too late. Now is the time. Before we all know someone who loved someone on that list. No more lists.”

The website for Demand a Plan asks for signatures for the petition. It notes its plan as the following:

Our efforts cannot bring back the 20 innocent children murdered in Newtown, CT -- or the 34 people murdered with guns every day in America. But we can prevent future tragedies by passing common sense legislation that will:

1.  Require a criminal background check for every gun sold in America

2.  Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

3.  Make gun trafficking a federal crime, including real penalties for “straw purchasers”

Demand that your members of Congress and the president support these legislative priorities.
