CeeLo Green Pleads No Contest, Deletes Twitter After Posting Opinions on Rape

CeeLo Green Pleads No Contest, Deletes Twitter After Posting Opinions on Rape CeeLo Green temporarily took down his Twitter account on Sunday, after comments he made regarding the rape of women raised eyebrows and had fans in an uproar.

The comments came two days after the "Voice" coach pleaded "no contest" in court to accusations that he slipped an Ecstasy pill into a date's drink.

The plea will allow Green, who maintains his innocence, to avoid serving jail time. He was sentenced to three years probation and 360 hours of community service for the drug conviction, but avoided any charges of sexual assault due to lack of evidence.

The woman attests that she went on a date with Green, who secretly drugged her drink. The "next thing" she knew, she was waking up naked in her hotel room with him.

Green took to his Twitter account to vent, but his choice of statements proved alarming to many readers.

"When someone brakes on [sic] a home there is broken glass. Where is your plausible proof anyone was raped?"

"Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" He added. "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously. so WITH implies consent."

Another complains, "so if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?"

Following these asinine entries, Green deleted them, and then his Twitter account, after posting an apology of sorts.

"Let me 1st prasie god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intented on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it it was your support that got me thru this to being with."

"I'd never condone the harm of any women. Thank you," he concluded.

His account has since been reactivated.
