CBS Adds 14 Shows to Early Renewal List

CBS Adds 14 Shows to Early Renewal List CBS has given early renewals to fourteen series on Wednesday, bringing its grand total for current renewals to eighteen shows.

The Big Bang Theory,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “NCIS” and “CSI” have already garnered season orders well ahead of time, which should come as no surprise as the shows are largely responsible for helping CBS become the leading broadcast network in both viewers and the coveted adult demographic of 18-49.

Also joining the safe list:

The Good Wife

The Mentalist

“Hawaii Five-O”

NCIS: Los Angeles

Blue Bloods

Elementary

Person of Interest

2 Broke Girls

“Mike & Molly”

The Amazing Race

Survivor

Undercover Boss

60 Minutes

“48 Hours”

Missing? “Criminal Minds” has yet to get the nod; however, it is expected to return after negotiations with the cast have been solidified… the same goes for “Two and a Half Men,” which is anticipated to return once talks with Warner Bros. have been concluded.

Golden Boy,” “CSI: NY,” Vegas,” and “Rules of Engagement” are still nervously awaiting their fate. At least one of these options will probably be gathered up and saved; however CBS will probably wait until pilot season to make a final decision.

“CSI: NY” and “Vegas” are generally considered less likely to make it to another season. “Rules of Engagement” has faced cancellation before and rebounded, don't rule out the David Spade comedy just yet.

Pilots that CBS will be airing as competition for these lagging shows include “Anatomy of Violence” with Amber Tamblyn, “The Advocates” with Mandy Moore, John Corbett’s “NCIS: Red,” Jason Lee’s “Second Sight,” and the comedic film spin-off “Bad Teacher.”
