Catch the Royal Wedding on iTunes...Audio Only

Catch the Royal Wedding on iTunes...Audio Only We already know that the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton will be broadcast all over the world by the BBC, and might end up drawing the largest TV audience in history. But how will it fare against Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga?

The royal wedding will be available on iTunes within hours of the end of the ceremony, thanks to Universal Music. But there's a catch: it will be an audio file only.

You won't be able to see the spectacle, the parade, the horse-drawn carriage, or the dress, but you will be able to hear the musical performances from choirs and orchestras and, of course, the couple's wedding vows.

Decca Records will be releasing the audio track digitally on April 29th, the day of the nuptials. A CD and vinyl version of the recording will be available about a week later, on May 5th.

Here's the really funny part: the recording will also be released on an old-fashioned cassette tape as well! I can just see someone walking down the street, dressed in 90's clothes, listening to William and Kate say "I do" on his Walkman.

The upside of all this (besides obsessive fans getting to hear the audio track of wedding vows) is that the proceeds from the sales of the track will go to charity. Hopefully some of it will go back to the people of England, who are all paying for this multi-million-dollar event.
