Catch a Peek of 'Zombieland' the Television Show! [VIDEO]

Amazon is really, really hoping you guys like their new shows.

As Amazon ventures into streaming their own original series, a la Netflix, they will be relying heavily on viewer recommendations and reaction for which series stay and which disappear without a fuss.

In an effort to bring in audiences, they’ve made all of the pilot episodes for their shows available, for free, here… or you can check out trailers for all the episodes here if you don’t feel like taking the risk.

Most publicized of the new shows is probably “Zombieland.” It’s not, however, the 2009 movie that we know and love. Well, it is… but it’s not.

“Zombieland” the movie was originally written as a television series for CBS, but didn’t make the final cut. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick simply adapted their series for the big screen, and, with both back on board writing (and executive producing) the Amazon version, it seems we can expect to see “Zombieland” the way “Zombieland” was intended.

However, juding from the clip, the new “Zombieland” makes no attempt to distance itself from the original. The characters are still the same, the type of humor seems to have been maintained… but without the cast we grew to love (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin), can we get on board? Can it really be handled as if no “Zombieland” film existed and succeed?

The trailer takes place in the same world as the movie, with those all-important rules, and (something that was a little glossed over in the film) the Zombie Kill of the Week. It stars Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Tyler Ross as Columbus, Maiara Walsh as Wichita, and Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock.

What do you think, based on the trailer? Can “Zombieland” stand alone?
