Lori Loughlin initially rejected a plea deal in her conspiracy and money laundering case, but since then she's reportedly been worried about the possible 40 years in prison she faces if she goes to trial. Lori Loughlin may not go to trial after all in the college admissions scandal, according to report.
The 55-year-old could be offered a plea deal in the wake of fellow actress Felicity Huffman‘s two-week jail sentence in the nationwide scheme, TMZ reported.
Federal prosecutors were disappointed that Huffman walked away with a slap on the wrist, and fear that Loughlin will also receive a lenient sentence if convicted, so they have become open to plea discussions with the “Full House” actress, the outlet reported, citing sources.
Prosecutors had argued Huffman should receive a year behind bars for paying $15,000 to crooked college counselor William “Rick” Singer to fudge her daughter’s SAT scores.

Loughlin and her 56-year-old hubby, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of forking over $500,000 to a crooked college fixer to bribe their two daughters’ way into the University of Southern California as bogus rowing recruits.
The pair each faces up to 40 years in prison on charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
US Attorney Andrew Lelling indicated earlier this month that Loughlin could receive a lighter sentence if she settles before trial.
