Bryan Singer Rape Accuser Names Three More Alleged Abusers In New Lawsuits
by Andy NeuenschwanderHere's your daily dose of disturbing but not entirely shocking news.
Michael Egan, who recently accused "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer of rape, has named three more influential people in the entertainment industry in three new lawsuits alleging sexual abuse.
The three men named in the new lawsuit, according to TMZ, are Garth Ancier, Gary Goddard and David Neuman. The most details of the case are on Ancier, who allegedly drugged and forcibly sodomized a then 15-year-old Egan, two years before the alleged abuse by Singer.
Ancier, a television executive, created the Ricki Lake Show and acted as producer on a number of other major network shows, including "Home Improvement," "The West Wing" and "The Simpsons." Neuman, whose case is similar to Ancier's and was allegedly part of the same drug and underage sex ring that Egan claims victimized him, is a former president of Disney. As for Goddard, he produced off-broadway shows and a number of unsuccessful TV shows throughout the 80's and 90's.
As previously reported, Egan has accused Bryan Singer of sexually abusing him when he was 17 years old. Egan is now 31, and the statute of limitation has passed, but Hawaii law allows victims of sexual abuse to sue past the statute.
The drug ring alluded to in Egan's suit allegedly supplied young actors like Egan with drugs such as cocaine, Ecstasy, Rohypnol ("roofies") and other substances during trips to Hawaii with high-level execs, who would then take advantage of the boys. Egan also claims, in the suit against Ancier, that he was abused again in Encino, two years after the first occurence.
The suits have come out at a high-profile time for Singer, whose new "X-Men" movie comes out late next month on May 23. Singer's legal team has refuted the accusations, however no comment has come yet from Ancier, Goddard or Neuman.
