'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 2, Episode 9: 'The Road Trip' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanAmy and Jake have a prisoner transport upstate the next morning, so they're going to go spend the night at a B and B. Jake has invited Sophia along to squeeze in some romance. Amy is impressed - Teddy never does that sort of thing for her. Jake makes a sneaky call to Teddy and explains the situation.
Holt asks Charles for help. He is making an anniversary breakfast for Kevin and cares little about food. Charles tries too hard to teach him, and frustrates Holt. However, Holt checks out Charles' food blog, and reads about the emotional connection between people and food. He makes a croque monsieur for Kevin to remind them of their date in Paris, and Charles is so proud.
Rosa, in the meantime, is very sick. However she insists on interrogating a perp, knowing that he may be able to give her the name of a Gigglepig supplier. She refuses to go home and downs a bunch of non-drowsy cold meds, making her loopy and hyper. Gina locks her in the storage room, where she passes out for ten hours. Terry interrogates the perp and gets the supplier's name, and Gina makes her a cold care kit. Rosa is touched.
Jake can't keep his surprise secret and tells Amy that he invited Teddy. Amy is horrified - she was preparing to break up with Teddy, and was working out a script. Jake tells Sophia they have to run interference for Amy, so they double date at dinner. However a flustered Amy bursts out that she wants to dump Teddy.
Teddy blames Jake, saying that every time Jake said he had feelings for Amy, Amy would pull back in the relationship. Amy reluctantly admits that she had some feelings for Jake in the past. Sophia and Teddy storm off.
Jake finds Sophia and apologizes, and tells her that there is nothing between him and Amy. She is hesitant, since she saw his face light up when Amy said she had some feelings for him, but they make up anyway.
Early the next morning they transport the prisoner, and Amy recovers from her breakup as Jake teases her relentlessly about her crush on him.
