'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 2, Episode 21: 'Det. Dave Majors' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanAmy and Jake are overly excited when they find out they get to work with a Det. Majors on another force. The two fight to impress the seasoned detective.
Terry is being courted by a personal security team. Gina and Charles want to throw a party for him to convince him to stay, but Holt won't allow it.
Majors takes out Jake for a drink, but his purpose is to ask if he can invite Amy on a date when their case ends, not be bros, as Jake had hoped.
Later, Jake is forced to admit to Rosa that he still likes Amy. Even though he still has feelings for her and has been contemplating asking her out, he tells Det. Dave to go for it.
Jake tries to ask Amy out before the case ends, but everything seems to be working against him. And then, when he finally has a moment to do it, he solves the case, officially opening the door for Dave.
Charles and Gina are sucking up to Terry hardcore, but Holt is being abnormally harsh on Terry, no matter what they do to try and make work easier for him. Terry ends up turning down the other job, because Holt's harshness actually made him realize how important the work he does truly is.
Rosa tells Jake that when Amy really likes a guy she tucks her hair behind both ears, so he still has time. He hunts Dave and Amy down at the bar they are at, and sneaks in to interrupt... but sees her do the double tuck, and steps off.
Later, however, he finds out that Amy actually turned down Det. Dave. After her breakup with Teddy she has decided that dating cops is too messy.
When Jake leaves after their conversation, she double tucks her hair.
