'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 2, Episode 2: 'Chocolate Milk' Recap
by Shannon KeirnanTerry tells Jake he is having a vasectomy, after Jake overhears a phone conversation. The two of them go to investigate a stabbing at a chocolate milk restaurant, and Jake offers to drive Terry to his doctor's appointment afterwards.
The Chief Deputy is coming to do an inspection on the precinct. Holt isn't worried, as he has a good rapport with the CD... until she arrives, and Holt realizes it's his arch nemesis.
Charles has to go to his ex-wife's Jamaican-themed engagement party, and his sister canceled as his date. He asks Rosa to go with him but she staunchy refuses. He can't get out of it, as he lives in their basement.
Terry's procedure is postponed, as they didn't have enough anesthesia to knock him out. He is loopy from what they did give him, and confessional. Jake takes him home and Terry says that he doesn't want the surgery.
The next day he has a make-up appointment, but Jake tries to talk him out of it. Terry insists he does want the surgery.
Amy panics that they are going to flunk the inspection because of the bad blood between Holt and the CD. He explains that long ago, she tried to seduce him and he had to tell her he was gay. She wrote him a terrible recommendation letter for a promotion, and he lost it.
Amy finds the recommendation letter and shows Holt that it was a good one. He and the CD air the bad blood between them, not agreeing on anything. Amy insists that Holt grovel for a passing grade, or they may lose him. Reluctantly he gives in and does go and grovel.
Jake realizes that he is being a bad friend for Terry, and goes to the surgery to be there for him. As Terry is getting wheeled in he begins yelling that he doesn't want the surgery, so Jake stops it, and takes him home. Terry admits he is conflicted about it.
Rosa shows up in Jamaican gear to take Charles to the party. She tells him he needs to man up and move out of his ex-wife's basement, and she'll help him.
The precinct passes with a mediocre grade thanks to Holt's begging. He is pleased with Amy for showing a little spark.
