'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 2, Episode 12: 'Beach House' Recap Everyone is excited for their detectives only getaway at Charles' beach house. Gina is especially excited to finally meet "Six Drink Amy," who she hopes is someone she can be friends with.

Holt wasn't invited, of course, and as Jake prepares to leave, he finds out that as a black gay cop, Holt was never really invited to hang out with his peers. Guilty, Jake brings Holt along, to everyone's horror. With him there no one feels comfortable letting loose.

Jake is forced to admit that he made a mistake. He tries to salvage the night by doing two parties - an upstairs Holt party, which is as dull as you'd expect, and a downstairs fun party. Everyone takes shifts to keep Holt occupied upstairs so they can enjoy themselves.

Amy manages to reach six drinks, but instead of being fun, she's just sad and lonely, and Gina takes care of her. The plan falls apart and Holt realizes there is a second party going on downstairs that he is not a part of. Jake apologizes to him, but he says he understands - they're there to blow off steam from work, and he's not allowing them to do so.

Jake suggests that instead of everyone rising to Holt's level, maybe Holt can lower himself. He gets in on the fun, letting himself be the butt of a game.
