'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 2, Episode 10: 'The Pontiac Bandit Returns' Recap

As Jake is in disguise as Santa, the Pontiac Bandit, Doug Judy walks past. Jake loses his cool. He chases him into a Christmas tree farm and manages to nab him, though he sets the trees on fire in the process.

Doug wants to cut a deal - he knows some useful knowledge on the Gigglepig ring.

Charles goes to Gina in a panic - he found a present from his dad to Gina's mom, which means things may be getting serious. They open it and find a scale. Knowing Gina's mom will hate it, they are relieved. They agree to do a gift exchange dinner, so she can open it in front of them and really drive in the humiliation.

Amy is working on a Christmas present for Holt, depsite his clear policy on no gifts. She's not spending money, however, but working on a scrapbook of Holt's career. When she comes upon what she believes is a mistake he made back in the beginning, charging an arsonist with several crimes he didn't do, she goes to Terry for help. She points out the error, and Holt, to her surprise, is pleased that she didn't brown-nose for once, and asks for her help figuring out who set the other fires.

The only way Jake will agree to make a deal with Doug is if he gives up the head guy in the Gigglepig ring, Tito Ruiz. They agree to put him up in a nice hotel while he helps them, and reduce his sentence.

They meet up with Tito, who wants Doug to jack a car to prove how good he is before they do business. Jake isn't willing to let him do it alone in case he flees, so he manages to get all the pressure to jack the car put on himself. With subtle guidance from Doug, Jake manages to open and start the car.

At dinner, Gina's mom is actually thrilled about the scale - they're moving in together and it will go perfectly in the guest bathroom. Gina and Charles have a new goal - break them up.

Jake, Rosa, and Doug are allowed into the Gigglepig lab, and Tito admits he's the boss. A garbage truck backs into the building, causing chaos. Doug escapes on it, while Rosa has to call in the NYPD before everything is lost. Jake nabs Tito.

He gets a video from Doug, who is in paradise. Rosa promises Jake they'll catch him.
