Broadway Musical 'Company,' Starring Neil Patrick Harris and Stephen Colbert, to Screen in Theaters

Company.jpg" style="margin: 5px; cursor: default; float: left; width: 300px; height: 281px;" />Last weekend, a select group of New Yorkers were treated to a rare opportunity: to see an array of big-name stars perform in a one-weekend-only performance of the Broadway musical "Company." But after just a few days of shows, just as spontaneously as it arrived, it was gone.

Among the show's stars were Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother"), Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half Men"), Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") and Stephen Colbert ("The Colbert Report"). That collection of TV stars were joined by talented stage actors like the Tony-award-winning Patti LuPone.

Star-studded cast notwithstanding, the show was more of a concert production for the New York Philharmonic than a full-blown stage musical, but it was still met with good reviews. Some critics found the singing to be a little lacking from some of the TV stars, but the dialogue was said to be stellar.

Why am I telling you this when it's already over? Well, it's not quite over yet: one of the performances was filmed, and starting in June movie theaters across America will be screening that performance. The Sondheim musical will hit 500 theaters (that's the number as of now, anyway), so it will be a very limited release. However, you should be able to find a theater at least somewhere near you that will have a print.

For those who have never seen "Company," it's really quite good. Even those who aren't normally musical fans will probably enjoy it, and the star-studded cast can only help. Be sure to check it out when it starts hitting theaters in mid-June.
