Britney Spears Officially Signs Nicki Minaj for Upcoming Tour

Who needs Enrique Iglesias when you can have Nicki Minaj? Not Britney Spears!

TMZ is reporting this morning that Britney Spears will team up with recording artist Nicki Minaj for her upcoming tour.

Initially Latin heartthrob Iglesias was on board to open for the pop queen but just hours after making the announcement, Iglesias' camp released a statement saying the singer was backing out.

Sources claim it was Iglesias' ego that was to blame for the Brit ditch; we say it's for the best!

Certainly the immediate reaction was to scramble but it all worked out in the end. Minaj will bring the sass and star power Iglesias lacks and her energy will make the show undoubtedly more entertaining.

Currently Minaj is on tour with rapper Lil Wayne but when their tour closes at the end of May, she will start rehearsing with Spears and her crew.

Brit's tour opens June 17 in Sacramento, CA.
