Britney Spears, Fiance Settle Into $8.5-Million New Home (Photos)

Sure, Britney Spears still has to answer to a court-ordered conservator. But really, who's going to tell the $20-million new judge of FOX's "The X Factor" that an $8.5-million-listed home is a bank-breaking acquisition?

People.com had the scoop Thursday on the swanky new digs Spears will make into a quaint lil' love-nest alongside fiancé Jason Trawick. The preeminent pop icon of the late '90s and 2000s won't be putting many miles on a moving truck, either.

"Britney has bought a new house in the community she was already living in," a source said of the home in L.A.'s Thousand Oaks neighborhood. "She, Jason and [her two sons] will live there."

Still another source clarified that the pair and Spears' tots haven't yet moved into the home nestled in the neighborhood's Sherwood Country Club section. The new pad stretches across 8,456 square feet encompassing five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and even an infinity pool.

People.com sourced blogger The Real Estalker, who snarked, "It's not, not surprisingly, that bluff-top, ocean-view spread in Malibu [CA] those wily 'X Factor' people tried to pass off as her house last week when small groups of the show's hopeful contestants were invited to belt their wannabe-pop-star hearts out at one of the four judge's homes."

For the past four and a half years, Spears has been under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears, due to ongoing psychological issues.
