Season Finale of 'The Office' Tonight - Will British Actress Catherine Tate Be the New Boss?

Season Finale of 'The Office' Tonight - Will British Actress Catherine Tate Be the New Boss? The big, star-studded season finale of "The Office" is on tonight in just a few short hours, but it seems as though the news about who will replace Steve Carell just can't be contained: THR is reporting that their sources know who it will be.

So which mega-star that's coming in for the season finale will stick around for next season on "The Office?" It's safe to say that it probably won't be Warren Buffett (the businessman is set to appear in the finale as well). We should be able to count Will Ferrell out as well, as his schedule wouldn't allow it, and the same goes for Will Arnett, who is set to appear but whose pilot has been picked up for the fall.

That leaves Ricky Gervais (nah, probably not), Ray Romano, James Spader, Jim Carrey (definitely not), and Catherine Tate.

According to THR, Tate is currently the front-runner for the job. While Tate is a big deal over in England, she's probably the least well-known of the guest-stars on this side of the pond.

That said, Tate is an accomplished comedienne and should bring a fresh take to "The Office." Will she able to replace Michael Scott in our hearts? Nope...I'm doubtful that anyone could do that. But at least there's a chance that her character will be less...how should I put this...hapless.
