Is 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1' the Worst Movie of the Year?

With all the pomp and circumstance surrounding the Oscars, it's important to take a step back and remember the "other" movies that came out this year. Yeah, those ones. The ones that sucked.

That's why the annual Razzie Awards are here, to award the worst movies, writers and actors of the year for their efforts. Among this year's nominees for Worst Picture are "New Year's Eve," "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," "Jack and Jill," "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," and the mega-hit "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

Other nominations for "Breaking Dawn" include Kristin Stewart for Worst Actress, Taylor Lautner for Worst Actor, and Bill Condon for Worst Director.

But the big winner/loser of this year's Razzies is Adam Sandler, who is nominated a record 11 times this year. This is partly because of his involvement with three not-so-great movies--"Just Go With It," "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," and "Jack and Jill"--and partly because he was also nominated as Worst Actress for his cross-dressing performance in "Jack and Jill."

Normally, the Razzie winners have been announced the night before the Oscars, but this year the ceremony will be held on April 1. Maybe that will give the nominees a chance to recover from the disappointment over not being nominated for Oscars.
