'Breaking Bad,' 'True Detective' Stars Reportedly Testing for Role of Jessica Jones in Netflix/Marvel Series

'Breaking Bad,' 'True Detective' Stars Reportedly Testing for Role of Jessica Jones in Netflix/Marvel Series Casting is ramping up for Netflix's upcoming Marvel superhero series, and Jessica Jones is the newest name to get some potential actors on tap.

Rumor has it that "Breaking Bad" star Krysten Ritter and "True Detective" player Alexandra Daddario are both being considered for the role and are screen testing now. Theresa Palmer and Jessica De Gouw are also rumored to be going through the final casting phases.

Ritter turned heads as Jesse Pinkman's girlfriend Jane in the early seasons of "Breaking Bad," and also starred in the short-lived but much-loved sitcom "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23." She was the B.

Daddario broke onto the scene in a big way when she starred as one of the demigods in the movie adaptations of the Percy Jackson series. However, she got even more attention for her role in "True Detective" as the philandering Marty Hart's mistress (or one of them, anyway).

"Jessica Jones" will center on the Marvel superheroine, who suffers from PTSD and ends up giving up the superhero business and starting a detective agency instead. The series draws from the Marvel comic books series "Alias," not to be confused with the Jennifer Garner show of the same name.

Netflix is also developing series centering on superheroes Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daredevil, all of whom tend to intersect frequently with each other and Jessica Jones. It's suspected that Netflix will tie all of these shows together with cross-overs, in addition to tying them all into the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.
