'Breaking Bad' Spinoff 'Better Call Saul' Gains New Cast Member

'Breaking Bad' Spinoff 'Better Call Saul' Gains New Cast Member Everybody's favorite fixer is about to be re-hired...and reanimated.

Deadline reports that Jonathan Banks, who played Mike Ehrmantraut in "Breaking Bad," is set to appear as a series regular in the hit show's spinoff series "Better Call Saul."

Banks, who is currently a series regular on "Community" stepping in as a sort of replacement for the departed Chevy Chase, played a pivotal role in "Breaking Bad" as Mike and was a fan favorite before meeting his end.

Since "Better Call Saul" is a prequel to "Breaking Bad," any number of characters from AMC's now-defunct show could end up appearing. Mike could easily be joined by Giancarlo Esposito's Gus, for example, considering the fact that Mike worked for the drug kingpin for a stretch.

What this means for Banks' future on "Community" is uncertain, although a scheduling conflict would likely only arise if the NBC sitcom is renewed for a seventh season...and considering the show's still ailing ratings, that's not looking like a very likely scenario.

But hey, the great news for Mike is that he'll have his whole ear back. Right, Mike?
