When Will 'Breaking Bad' Season 5 Premiere? Now We Know!
by Andy NeuenschwanderEven though some shows airing much later in the summer had already set their premiere dates, AMC was staying quiet about the premiere for the final season of "Breaking Bad." Fortunately, AMC made the announcement yesterday, and now we can spend our time counting down the days.
The big day is Sunday, July 15, with the season five premiere airing at 10PM. As previously reported, the fifth season will be split into two parts, with eight episodes airing in the weeks following the premiere. The other eight episodes will air sometime in 2013, and it's looking like that "sometime" means "summer."
As for the content of the fifth and final season of "Breaking Bad," it's anyone's guess. The behind the scenes preview video wasn't much help (though it was good for a chuckle), but we do know that "Friday Night Lights" star Jesse Plemons has been cast in the upcoming season as a regular guy with a possible dark side, just like Walt. Whether he's an ally or a villain remains to be seen.
AMC also set the premiere date for "Hell on Wheels," which will begin on Sunday, August 12 in the 9PM time slot, right before "Breaking Bad."
Now, you may commence impatiently counting down the days until "Breaking Bad" comes back.
