'Breaking Bad' Season 5 Comes to Netflix
by EGIf you need to catch up with "Breaking Bad" before the last episodes of the show's final season start to hit the air, you can do so soon, provided you're a Netflix subscriber. The streaming service announced that it will be offering the first half of the show's fifth season to its US subscribers beginning on Aug. 2.
The fifth-and-last season of "Breaking Bad" has been divided into two parts, and the eagerly awaited last half of the season begins to air on AMC starting on Aug. 11. Until now, Netflix has offered only the first four seasons of the series to its US subscribers for streaming, but Variety reports that the first half of season five will be available online starting on Aug. 2.
Anticipation of the series finale was heightened after the announcement of the 2013 Emmy nominations on July 18, in which "Breaking Bad" was given 13 nominations, including nods for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Last week, Netflix announced that it would make new episodes of the series available to subscribers in the UK and Ireland the day after they air in the US. There is no word yet about when the second-half episodes will be available to US subscribers.
