'Breaking Bad' Marathons Tease Premiere of 'Better Call Saul'
by EG
The beginning of next week is going to be busy for fans of Breaking Bad. The second season of spin-off Better Call Saul is set to debut on Netflix, and AMC is, at the same time, going to run the first of two day-long Breaking Bad marathons meant to get fans ready for the premiere of Better Call Saul's third-season.
The new season of BCS is notable because it will bring back one of the most beloved of Breaking Bad characters, Gustavo Fring, and give us a look at the early days of his career as a drug kingpin. Although other Breaking Bad characters have appeared in the prequel spin-off, Fring's arrival promises to be one of the most substantial (and potentially delightful) tie-ins with the parent series.
The first of AMC's two marathons will run on March 27 and consist of 16 Breaking Bad episodes that prominently feature sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman. The second marathon airs a week later, on April 3, and will feature 17 of Gus Fring's best episodes (some of which overlap with the first marathon).
Better Call Saul's second season will be available for streaming on Netflix on March 27, and the third season begins on AMC on April 10 at 10pm.
