'Breaking Bad': Will Gus Return?
by Andy Neuenschwander"Breaking Bad" is not a comic book. When someone dies, they're really dead, and they will not be magically revived in a later episode thanks to some kind of cosmic artifact or special time-space gun (I'm looking at you, Captain America). So you would assume that Gus Fring will not be causing any more problems for Walter White in the last eight episodes of the series.
According to Giancarlo Esposito, though, he might be. The erstwhile Gus portrayer has talked in the past about how Walt is becoming more Gus-like as the series goes on, leaving open the possibility of Gus "haunting" Walt in some way. Let's assume he means metaphorically and not "Paranormal Activity" style.
The first eight episodes of the final season have come and gone, and nary a Gus was sighted... and this was the stretch when Walt was perhaps at his most Gus-like. But there are still eight more episodes to go, and Esposito remains positive about the possibility of returning to the show for a flashback of some kind.
"There has been talk," Esposito told E! on the topic of a Gus return. "I want to come back in Walt's dream and haunt him."
We want that too, you bespectacled criminal genius. We want that too.
