'Breaking Bad' Contest Winner Busted for Dealing Drugs

'Breaking Bad' Contest Winner Busted for Dealing Drugs In a bizarre case of life imitating art, a fan who had won a contest to attend a screening of "Breaking Bad" with the show's cast was arrested on New Year's Eve on charges that he possessed—and potentially manufactured and sold—synthetic drugs.

Ryan Lee Carroll, 28, was arrested at his home in San Carlos Park, Florida, where authorities confiscated synthetic marijuana worth a reported $1.2 million dollars. Police claim that Carroll and two accomplices manufactured the drug in a cement mixer in the house, packaged it, and shipped it to buyers across the country via a web site. Police also seized cash, big screen TVs, guns, a pickup truck, and a hazmat suit signed by "Breaking Bad" actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. Police say two other homes in the San Carlos Park area were also used to manufacture and store the drugs.

In September 2013, Carroll won a chance to fly to Los Angeles to attend a private party with the "Breaking Bad" cast and watch the series' final episode. The contest was sponsored by Aaron Paul.

"I think we’re going to be in hazmat suits with them,” Carroll said upon winning the contest. “It’s going to be crazy.”
