Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Finally Engaged: See the Ring!

It only took seven years and six kids to make the decision, but it looks like Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally decided to tie the knot.

The rumors started earlier this week when the couple made an appearance at a museum event in Los Angeles with their kids. It was hard to miss the massive engagement ring on Jolie's hand, and the sparkler set off speculation that Pitt had finally popped the question.

Those rumors were confirmed by Pitt's manager, according to THR: "Yes, it's confirmed," said Pitt's rep, "It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There's no date set at this time. Brad designed the ring."

Pitt did indeed have a lot of input into the design of the ring, which he made in cooperation with Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop. Procop formerly ran a company that designed jewelry for the British royal family. Apparently, Pitt took more than a year to design the ring. According to Procop: "Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality."

Pitt had mentioned earlier this year that he planned to commit to Jolie soon, noting that the couple's six children often asked when they would be getting married.

The couple is notoriously private, so we may not get the full story of how Pitt proposed. In any case, best wishes to the couple, whose humanitarian work has proved that they're worth a lot more than just "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
