'Boy Meets World' Sequel Casts Its Star!

'Boy Meets World' Sequel Casts Its Star! There has been a huge amount of interest in the upcoming sequel to the beloved family show, “Boy Meets World,” which will follow married Cory and Topanga Matthews’ daughter, 13-year-old, Riley.

And now the show, entitled “Girl Meets World,” has cast its biggest star, Riley herself.

Stepping into the role as sweet and eager Riley will be Rowan Blanchard. Blanchard, 11, has appeared in “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D” and “The Back-Up Plan.”

Creator of the show, Michael Jacobs (who also helmed the original) gushed about their choice for star.

“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” Jacobs said. “Rowanis real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well."

Already on the cast are the goofy, adorable couple themselves, Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel happily reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga.

Savage assures fans that the new show will strive to encompass everything that audiences loved about the original.

"I've gotten [notes] from a lot of people who are worried that the show won't hold up. That we shouldn't do it because it's going to ruin a lot of their childhood memories. We're really working hard and doing everything we can to make sure that this is going to be something special and funny, and hopefully it'll make new memories for a new generation,” he said.

The show is scheduled to start production shortly, possibly as soon as next month. It will be airing on the Disney Channel.

What do you think of the new adorable actress? Does she seem like a Matthews?
