Bill Murray Reveals His Picks for 'Ghostbusters 3' Female Ensemble

Can we make this happen already?

As we have mentioned before, a "Ghostbusters 3" is finally in the works, with "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig unofficially attached to the project.

The third installment of the "Ghostbusters" is also potentially getting a major reboot, and featuring women in the main roles.

Bill Murray, who played Peter Venkman in the first two classic flicks, was eager to embrace the idea of women picking up the proton packs.

"It sounds great to me," he told Access Hollywood. "It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor!"

He added, "No, it's a grand idea. I don't know who they're talking about, but it's a good idea, I would watch it! I mean, I love Robert Palmer's videos, so why wouldn't I love the female Ghostbusters?"

In a separate interview, he expanded on the concept, saying that the women "would probably have better outfits," and went on to name a few leading ladies he'd like to see saving the city from spooks.

"Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny - God, she's funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot... And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

Melissa McCarthy, who co-stars with Murray in the upcoming "St. Vincent," was asked if she would be interested in getting on board.

"Oh, my God, that's daunting," she admitted. "That's taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all."

What do you think of Murray's suggestions? Who would YOU cast in "Ghostbusters 3?"
