'Biggest Loser's' Rachel Fredricksen Wins Amid Eating Disorder Controversy - See Her Dramatic Transformation

'Biggest Loser's' Rachel Fredricksen Wins Amid Eating Disorder Controversy - See Her Dramatic Transformation Shock and awe over the weight loss of the reality competition show's contestants isn't anything new for a "Biggest Loser" finale, but last night's episode was more shocking than usual.

Rachel Fredricksen, a 22-year-old contestant on the show, was an increasing favorite to win as the season went on. By the time the second to last episode aired, her victory was all but assured.

But when Rachel came out on stage during the live finale, revealing her weight loss, even trainer Jillian Michaels couldn't hide her shock.

Rachel, who started at 260 pounds, had shed 60% of her body weight to weigh in at the finale at just 105 pounds.

Twitter immediately erupted, worrying that Rachel had developed an eating disorder under the pressure from the show, trading one unhealthy weight for another.

Sure enough, Rachel looked gaunt. And knowing her vital statistics, her BMI now comes in at about 18, just under the normal range, making her slightly underweight.

This begs the question: Does "The Biggest Loser" focus on the wrong goals? Sure, weighing one's self is a good way to keep track of one's health, but the number that comes up on the scale is only part of the story.

In fact, "Biggest Loser" had even skipped over the second medical segment, in which the remaining contestants have a follow-up meeting with a doctor to get good news about their health. Would Rachel have been given a warning based on that appointment?

Did you watch last night's finale? Do you think the show could have done more to guide its contestants in a healthy direction?
