'The Big Bang Theory' Season 6, Episode 5: 'The Holographic Excitation' Recap

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 6, Episode 5: 'The Holographic Excitation' Recap This Halloween episode of Big Bang Theory proved to be much more of a treat than a trick, and a sweet one at that. It brought the laughs and the heart as we saw relationships grow between many of the characters.

We started off in the comic book shop where they were discussing the upcoming Halloween party. Raj planned to help Stuart with the party, as the two have become increasingly closer this season. Meanwhile, Howard seemed to be having word vomit. He was unable to shut up about going into space. This was understandably getting under everyones skin.

Feeling a little more distant, Penny wanted to take an interest in Leonard's work. Being less intellectually developed (putting it nicely), she knew this would come a challenge.

While in the lab Penny was trying her hardest to act like she knew what things were, and what they did. It was pretty transparent she had no idea what she was talking about. In what could have been a mess, Leonard decided to show Penny some holograms.
Leonard start to show a hologram of a pencil then the earth. He then gave a very poetic definition of the universe, a rare suave moment for him. Penny was impressed (and excited.) She found Leonard's intelligence very attractive so they made good use of the lab.

Having their own issues, Sheldon and Amy struggled with what to dress as for Halloween. They both agreed upon dressing up together, they just couldn't decide quite what to dress as. Amy saw it as a moment to show off she has a boyfriend and do "couple" things. Sheldon just saw it as a moment to have a R2D2 to his C3PO.

They took to the draw erase board to find common ground, drawing vin diagrams. Amy stood firm on her stance that they need to go as a romantic duo. Sheldon was obviously strongly against this idea.

All of their relationship problems came to a head at the Halloween party. While Penny didn't always understand what Leonard was saying, she knew that she suddenly found his brain to be the most attractive part of him. Something they both seemed to take pleasure in.

Bernadette took Howie aside to ask him why he won't stop talking about going into space. He was scared to go back to just plain Howard Wolowitz. Bernadette reassured him that that's the Howie she feel in love with and loves today. The moment made funnier by the fact that they were dressed as Smurfs (a prefect costume choice.)

In the final moments Amy came into the comic book shop dressed as Ragedy Ann. (This combined all the the things that Sheldon hates; Children, clowns, and ragedyness.) Sheldon then came in as a hybrid C3PO Ragedy Andy. That was their compromise, although Sheldon pointed out that "I lost."
